In this small work, OpenGL based point cloud visualizer was built to be able to travel through huge LIDAR point clouds. LIDAR based point clouds are composed from several scan-sites where 5 high-resolution images and 3D point cloud are stored. The size can easily be several gigabytes or even terabytes, so scalable rendering solution is needed. Here Opera house of Helsinki was scanned and tested in point based visualizer. Octree structure is updated dynamically to load the most interesting volumes based on camera FOV.
